Summer Youth Camp Ages 6 - 11

​

Campers enjoy daily arts, crafts, music, games, computers, and more. Special guests have them entertained with a variety of programming, field trips are always a big hit and participating in our summer camp movie production is always the highlight of our summer activities!

Camp Hours:  7:00am - 6:00pm

Weekly Tuition:  $150 per week ($20 weekly deposit required)

Note: Field Trips and Movie Week have an additional charge, please check the registration form for pricing.

While comfy and perfect for human life, our planet is also full of so many “extreme” elements.  Our learning will include extreme climates, weather, natural disasters, animal life, plant life, and even the crazy things that fellow human beings do to get their names in the record books!

DIVING DEEP FOR MYSTERIES BELOW: Protecting and Understanding our Oceans

Did you know that scientists know more about the surface of the moon than the deepest depths of the oceans?  This week we will be looking beneath the waves at some of our favorite ocean creatures and unlocking some “mysteries of the deep.”  The effects of humans on the world’s oceans has also become a “hot topic” in recent years and we will discuss what we can do to protect the health of sea life around the world.

SUMMER CAMP WEEK 1

HANDS-ON SCIENCE: Experiments, engineering, etc.

What better way to experience science than through hands on experiences?  We will explore and perform experiments in plant-based science, chemistry, physical science, color science, and food science (yum!).  We will also have Quiver Farms delivering an incubator full of fertilized chicken eggs that we will get to observe hatching!

CARTOON CRAZE: Animation & Creating Stories

Our lives are full of animation - from TV and movies to comics and coloring books.  We are going to explore the process of drawing and creating animated works by closely studying various styles and recreating them ourselves through flip books, comic strips, and stop motion.

PITCH-PERFECT PATRIOTIC PRIDE: Music in the USA

Closed July 4 AND July 5 – rate this week is $90

The week of Independence Day is a chance to be patriotic!  This will be a short, 3-day week of American music history and activities including folk songs and instruments, Sousa Marches, and famous American composers and songwriters.

Our campers are growing up in a world significantly different from the version we knew as children.  Children are daily engaging in internet and app-based games and activities, so this week we are going to focus on safe and age-appropriate online skills alongside fun recreations of our favorite YouTube videos.

GHOSTS, ALIENS, CRYPTIDS, OH MY!: Paranormal Week

Halloween isn’t the only time of year for spooky stuff!  As long as humans have been around there have been stories of the paranormal.  We will take a look through history and around the globe at some at the most interesting examples of ghosts, aliens, and monsters of cryptozoology.

CENTER STAGE: Theatre 101 - Preparing for Movie Week

Clear the stage: it’s time for Theatre 101, all the acting basics to get us ready for Movie Week next week!  This week will be full of theatre games, learning lines, and performing for the group. 

 

Note: Although it's not required, we HIGHLY suggest that you attend this week if you are interested in "actively" participating in our Movie Week the week of August 19.

SUMMER CAMP WEEK 10

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION

We are going to end the summer with a cinematic bang!  Campers will develop a movie from start to finish including story line, characters, props, set design, film editing, and more!  They will be taking their acting skills acquired and rehearsed during “Center Stage” week and applying them to a role in our annual Summer Camp Movie!  A "Red Carpet" movie premiere will be offered on Friday, August 23 at 5pm for parents to see their screen debut.
